Ability to edit recurring gift schedule

A donor requested that we add an end date to their recurring gift. There is no way to adjust their schedule either in webview or database view. We need to be able to adjust donor payment schedules when they want to make changes.

Right now in CM, we have to set calendar reminders for terminating gifts on a specific dates, or we have to cancel gifts/setting up new ones to change the schedules.

Also, I've had several instances where donors select the wrong frequency for their gift (weekly instead of monthly is an example). I can change their amount, fund, just about anything else, but I can't change their frequency. So ultimately they have to terminate their recurring gift and start again. I would love for them to be able to change it themselves or at least for us to be able to change it for them.

Yes, this would be for staff only. Skipping payments and putting gifts on hold work fine when we need to do that, but we have a couple other situations that fall outside of that realm.

For example: If a recurring gift already exists for a donor and then the donor tells us that they can only keep giving until the end of the calendar year, there is no place to add an end date. We can set up end dates when initially creating a new recurring gift, but not if the recurring gift already exists.

Another example for scheduling is: if someone's credit card declines and then we call them to update it, there is no way to rollback the transaction and still process the gift for that month. The new info won't run until the next scheduled date. So essentially, we end up losing one month's donation from that donor. When our recurring gifts used to process using the EFT module in database view, we could rollback transactions, but Church Management webview does not let us do that.

Thanks Natalie - so this is more for staff ability instead of donors doing it themselves? So in this case, none of the existing functionality helps like skipping payments or changing the status (putting the recurring gift On Hold)?

No, we need our staff admins to be able to adjust giving schedules. Our donors don't use the app (they aren't members of our church because we serve college students).

Your donor can currently end their own recurring gift in the MobileMission app - would that work in this example?
