I love the idea of consolidated receipting and that it goes via email! Awesome! However there are some things that need to be improved:
1) The gifts on the receipt are not in any particular order. Should be date order by default and maybe with some settings to sort differently, if desired.
2) The receipt does not subtotal gifts by fund or pledge drive
3) The receipt format is not editable to include a logo or custom text
4) When sending a receipt, there is a message that the gifts will be marked as receipted but they are marked as acknowledged instead.
5) Consolidated receipting seems not to distinguish between tax-deductible gifts and payments for events and activities. Payments show up as gift type "donations". The receipt should only include tax-deductible gifts because we are putting the verbiage on about not receiving anything for the gift. Payments for events and activities should not be included here.
6) If you want to include payments in the consolidated receipt, then "Gift Amount" should be renamed "Amount Received" and then the "contribution amount" could be the tax-deductible part of the amount received (which I think it is doing already) Then adjust the verbiage of the disclaimer to indicate that nothing was received for the amount contributed
As an additional observation, the verbiage on the receipt is really unclear. For the total payments including donations and receipts for activities and merchandise the receipt calls all of that "total gift amount of payments". Then there is a separate total for only the tax-deductible donations and that total is called "total contribution amount of payments". I can see (because it is my record) that the first one includes my non-deductible payments and the second does not, but most people would be confused by this as they don't make a distinction between "gifts" and "contributions". This should be easy to fix and I hope this at least can be fixed before we need to send out receipts in January.
It would also be nice to be able to have pledge balances on the receipt.
Another feature our Church needs to see is the ability to filter by certain funds. We have a Foundation and we need to be able to generate separate giving statements based on which funds they gave to. This might also help with eliminating activity fees from the statement if they are designated to a different fund all together.
I agree too! Plus please give us the chance to download or print from webview - not all our members have email. That would make this report very powerful!
I agree with all of this! It has SO much potention but isn't quite there yet. It would be so great to be able to receipt for specific funds for a spedified time frame.
