It would be helpful to give the ability to run a test check-in without affecting attendance. The test would be run by staff before services/activities start to make sure equipment, software and printers are working properly.
The only way I am aware of being able to do this currently is (1) to pre-check-in real kids and hold their tags until they arrive or remember to mark them absent if they do not or (2) to setup a test family and check them in, which skews the attendance record.
We have five check-in stations, so we currently have to do the above five times to ensure everything is working properly and backing out attendance/remembering to give preprinted tags, etc... is not optimal.
Thanks, Josh
Anthony, The current test option is helpful, but it is more like a time machine than a test since it affects actual attendance. The problem with the scenarios above that I mentioned is that you can't really run a test without real attendance being affected and so you have to go back in to unmark attendance at some point if it is not accurate.
Planning Center provides a test check in, which a user can run to ensure the printer is working properly. The user runs the test and a label prints with fake information. This gives the staff the ability to catch problems, troubleshoot, and fix issues before the rush of families comes in prior to services and Bible studies.
Josh - does the current Test option not work for what you are looking to test?
