We would like to be able to edit the information displayed when we do a search result within the Constituent Directory. The driving force behind this request is the fact that a lot of people of nicknames/ preferred names. If I am known to most people in my church as Jay (because this what I've gone by since a child), but my real name is Johnathan Jr. (hence the Jay), it would be helpful if the search result would display both: Real Name (Preferred Name). Some program staff or volunteers might only know me as Jay, but if I write a check for my pledged payments and it is in the name of Johnathan, we would want that information displayed as well. As currently engineered, the system allows us to only display either: (1) real name or (2) preferred name but not both names. Is this something that can be adjusted by the developers or updated to allow users to customize the information displayed?
We are focusing on the Directory right now and will take this into account. I do understand seeing legal name AND preferred name alongside the Directory info is helpful.
As a follow up to this, I noticed that there is a separate Idea with a similar request with 17 votes. Can we combine the 11 and 17 votes to move this up in the process? It is continuing to cause issues for us.
I'll note that it appears that when you search via the magnifying glass at the top instead of using the directory to search it does provide the preferred name and formal names. However, that search doesn't pull up all of the data you might need to see, which is why our staff typically use the Directory for searching.
Can we get an update as to where, if anywhere, this update is in the pipeline?
Would it be possible to show names as full given names and (nickname/preferred) ?
maybe like this -
First Middle Last, Suffix (Nickname/Preferred)
And of course if we don't have a middle name, it would just show
First Last Suffix (nickname/preferred)
