Congregation Summary should not include Deceased or Inactive

The overview figures on the Congregation Summary page that indicate all constituents with a certain membership status should default to not including deceased or inactive constituents. No one wants a numerical total of their membership that includes members that have been removed.

You should be able to search on deceased members. If you enter date of death you can search on just the last year, for example.

As Julianne mentioned, this is different from having deceased or inactive members show up in the congregation summary, which provides an inaccurate snapshot of membership.

seems to me it is apples and oranges between tracking/seeing deceased/inactive vs Congregation Summary including those in its total. We also need to see deceased and IA for current year but don't want them counted in membership total. So if it defaults to not including them, maybe those who want them included have the option (as there is in other areas) to check to include Deceased and/or IA?

We do need to see deceased for current year.

Our church does track decease persons for the current year. We have to report on this each year. Is there a way to include if we want???
